Dr. V. Misra, Ph.D., Florida State University, 1997, Research Scientist. Dr. V. Misra is working on the climate variability problem over the Amazon. Specifically, he is looking at the local and remote influences on the seasonal and interannual variability of rainfall over the Amazon. Furthermore, he is also assessing the impact of high resolution modeling on the predictability of seasonal forecasts over the Amazon. Other interests include numerical weather prediction, data assimilation, ensemble forecasting with emphasis on improving forecasts/simulations over the Asian monsoon region. Dr. V. Misra was a post-doctoral fellow at McGill University, Montreal, Canada for 2 years before joining COLA.
